Jarenlang heeft hij met Hans de Wit in de boeg van de LotT geroeid. E\u00e9n van zijn zussen woonde in die tijd op het Noordereiland en zag de sloep vaak voorbij komen op zondagochtend. Als er dan een hand omhoog ging, wist zij dat Bert in de boot zat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tiog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/IMG_5067-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1340\" width=\"297\" height=\"395\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tiog.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/IMG_5067-1.jpg 448w, https:\/\/tiog.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/IMG_5067-1-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 297px) 100vw, 297px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bert had prachtige herinneringen aan zijn roeitijd en de vele tochten, die ze gemaakt hebben. Zoals de inmiddels legendarische tocht van <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iM9p_Y9eH8Q\">Felixstowe naar Hoek van Holland<\/a>  in 1993.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En zijn mede-roeiers hebben goede herinneringen aan zijn droge humor en de sigaartjes, die ze van hem bietsten. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bert was niet alleen enthousiast roeier, maar ook \u00e9\u00e9n van de oprichters van TIOG. En hij heeft de naam bedacht. Bovendien hij was erbij toen de statuten in 1991 zijn vastgesteld bij de notaris. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bert zit kortom in het DNA van TIOG.
